Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of personaltrainingstudio's staff members:
Jeff Griggs (Owner/ Manager) Education: Bachelors Degree from University of Massachusetts Certifications: ECITS (East Coast Instructor Training School), American Council on Exercise, American Heart Association (Heart Saver CPR/AED).
Professional Experience: Fitness Instructor at UMass, 2 years Personal Trainer at Bally's Total Fitness. Jeff has been training clients at personaltrainingstudio since 2002.
Personal Experience: High School baseball and soccer. Weightlifting/Bodybuilding for over 12 years.
Troy Wyrick (Personal Trainer) EDUCATION: B.S in Exercise Physiology from Hofstra University CERTIFICATION: I.S.S.A. International Sports Science Association.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Has trained at Personal Training Studio since 2000. Employed 2 years as a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness. 1 1/2 years as a physical therapy aide at Winthrop University Hospital.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: Football, Bodybuilding, Track and Field, and Muay Thai Kickboxing.
Larry Keating (Personal Trainer) Certifications : Larry has a certification from the American Council On Exercise. Professional Experience - Larry has been training clients at the personaltraingstudio since 1999. He has a wide variety of clients ranging in age from 18 - 85.
Personal Experience - Larry is an avid tennis player (plays 3-5 times a week), runs, and skis - even at the age of 74!
Sue Murphy (Personal Trainer) Certification: American Council on Exercise, ECITS - (East Coast Instructor Training School). Bachelors Degree from St. Johns. Professional Experience: Sue has been a trainer at personaltrainingstudio since 1998.
Personal Experience - Running and weightlifting - Sue is an avid runner who knocks out between 30-40 miles per week. Even in between clients you will find Sue sprinting on the treadmill or pedaling on the bike.
Debbie Glinert (PERSONAL TRAINER) CERTIFICATION: Debbie holds a certification from the American Council on Execise (ACE) EDUCATION: BS from SUNY Albany; MBA from Adelphi University; Private School teaching certificate from NYSED.
PROFESSIONAL: Has been training clients at PTS since 2005.
PERSONAL: Yoga, Weightlifting, Running.
Deborah Farrell (Nutritionist) Education: Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Long Island University Experience: Deb's Balanced Nutrition, LLC Owner of nutrition counseling business, October 2005-present. Counsel clients on nutritional needs, procure medical and social histories, obtain anthropometric measurements, calculate BMI and appropriate amount of daily calories. Determine dietary intake and any drug-food interaction. Evaluate food goals and set custom dietary plan for clients.

Other Skills: Deb is familiar with Spanish, practices hatha yoga, ran the LI half marathon in 2000, Garden City Turkey Trot yearly, and enjoys growing fruits and vegetable and healthy cooking
Stephen Teta (Personal Trainer) Steve is a personal trainer who has managed and operated fitness centers for over 12 years. He has certifications from American Counsel on Exercise, National Strength and Conditioning Association and American Counsel of Sports Medicine. Steve has also mastered the Martial Arts of Jeet Kune Do and is proficient in teaching boxing, kickboxing and self defense
Anthony LaFauci (Personal Trainer) Anthony has been in the fitness field in various capacities for several years. He holds certifications as a Personal Trainer and Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant with the American Counsel on Exercise.
Eugene Ignieri (Certified Golf Fitness Instructor) Gene has a Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 certification. Through a series of simple physical screens, Gene is able to diagnose current limitations in his clients moving joints. He then works with his clients on increasing mobility and stability of these joints as it pertains to the golf swing creating a more consistent and powerful swing. Gene's education and experience give his clients the rare oppurtunity to improve their game off the course.
